Per notice issued on December 27, 2024, Chinese embassies and consulates in the United States will continue to implement the visa fee reduction policy. The visa fee for U.S. citizens traveling to China (excluding journalist visas) is $140 per application, and citizens of third countries are also eligible for the fee reduction.

Visa applications do not require an appointment—documents can be submitted upon arrival, and the processing time is four working days.
